Maya Create Text Not Working

For some reason when I try to use the "Create Polygon Text Tool" in Maya it doesn't seem to do anything, I tried going to the create tab, but it seems as though the option to click in the tool is grayed/faded out. I really need to be able to type out 3D extruded text, can someone please help? I have Maya ext 2 installed.

Have you got the Type.mll selected in the Plug-in Manager?

Thank you so much!!! It worked! Weird how it stopped loading the plugin, but anyway thank you so much!
