Line up verticies?

I am in quad draw and would like to know if it is possible to line up a bunch of verts based on the first and last vert (see attached)

The only way I can see to do this is to draw a line with verts in similar places and then snap to vertex but that seems a long way around.

You can turn off 'retain component spacing' in the 'move' options, select your verts you want to move - and then snap to the vert you want them to line up with.

Unfortunately there are no snapping options with quad draw.

Quad draw is not a tool I'm very familiar with yet - but can't you go to component view (F8) and move your verts?

I see... I'm sorry I'm not any help in this area.

Mspeer's suggestion seems to be fairly easy though?

Do your verts stay constrained to the same plane?

Thank you. Yes they are on the same plane.

maybe there is a Mel script available that lines up vents between the first and last vert

Hi!

You can use helper objects for constraints / snapping, like a curve or a Polygon,or if they are already planar, just move the inner vertices far outside and then use Multi-Cut.

There is no script that does this, but you could create one on your own.

thanks.

As you can see from my other thread the answer for me is snap to curve using the bezier as the guide. Multicut would change my topolgy as I am learning to poly model and creating the topology is my main learning aim at the moment.

I am only a few weeks into Maya so creating a Mel Script is not on my skill list at present
