Hello, I would like to know if it's possible to use the Lattice deformer with multiple objects at the same time, but affecting each object individually.

I need to deform some objects all in the same way, and I don't know how to do it.

Thanks!

You want a lattice that affects all of them at the same time or several lattices doing the same thing on each object?

As fas ar I know you can't copy paste lattices. I tried to do a "preset" but it does not save the tweaks to the points, just the position. I also used the deformers editor but it adds objects to a current lattice, not to several ones. Then I searched iNet and found this:

"If both of your latices have the same amount of control points, you could transfer the transformation of the first latice's control points to the second. That is done in the hypergraph. Connect the first lattice's shape node's latticeoutput to the second one's lattice input."

I tried to do it and was not able to achieve it, but I am not very skilled in the hypergraph anyway.

I tried a work around using "wrap". You model a box similar to the lattice you need. Copy paste it on top ob each object you need to deform in the same way. Apply the warp to each of them. Edit the box in the first one, and once you are happy just transfer attributes to all the boxes and then you have the same exact deformation in all of them and still separate control on each.

Hope this helps, it was fun to research though.

🙂

have you tried placing all of your objects inside a group and applying the lattice to the group itself?
