What about to "snap them" with merge (that use half of the distance between the verticles) or target weld tool and after merging them, select them and split them. They stay on the place but you get two verteces again. But its kind of the same as snaping them with V and C.

Hi, I'm trying to snap to a point (red dots) where two edges would intersect, but have yet found an easy way to do it without actually intersect them and use booleans, which I find most cumbersome. I already know about the 'v' and 'c' snap functions, as well as how to turn the pivot along any edge, face, etc. but don't get it to work in this particular case. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I can see my picture might have been a bit confusing. The blue area along with the red dots is what I want to achieve, but so far I just have the grey squares. So what I want to do is get the red point where the sides of the two squares would intersect. As far as I see, your proposed method would—unless I miss something—average the point to the wrong place. Just as everything else I have tried so far.

Yeah, you would have to manualy correct the position of the verteces. Well if it has to be so accurate without booleans a would make them intersect and add verteces manualy in the point of intersection connect them with edges and delete the rest of the cube. That is all I can think of for now.

Yes, I guess this is a as good it might get. Perhaps I will try to script something, just wanted to see if there already might have been a simple way to do it. Thanks for your help!
