Hi Remi,

Thanks for the info. I have downloaded Maya LT 2016. The file now opens with less deleted unsupported nodes, but one crucial one is needed. It is an expression I used on the spine. Is there any way I can put that in so that Maya accepts it?

Jaime

Hello,

I'm trying to open an .mb file of a rigged character that was created in Maya 2015 to Maya LT. I get an error message stating there are unsupported nodes and I understand what that means. However, the nodes that seem to be unsupported are very basic and can be created in Maya LT. Such as added attributes, a script for the spine and parent constraints.

Could someone please help me to understand why nodes that can be created in Maya LT are not supported when the file was created in Maya 2015?

Thank you.

Jaime

Hi Jaime,

So attributes and parent constraints are supported in Maya LT and have been since Maya LT 2014 but Spline IK was not.

Spline Ik however has only been added in in Maya LT 2015 extension. Cluster deformers and Spline IK are supported in Maya LT 2016 if you want to give that a try.

Please let us know how it goes,

Unfortunately Maya LT does not support expressions, so there won't be any way to import these. You could probably wire up the same relationship using utility nodes in the hypershade or node editor though.

Thanks,
