Can't manually set a relative path for a simple aiVolume. Help?

I've set my project, and then tried to set the new path manually. If I deselect and then select it again, the path reverts back to absolute.

How can I fix this? Remake the volume entirely?

can you please check if the solution from here works: aiVolume not allowing relative paths.
