have to double tap transform keys, otherwise i get a hotbox menu

Often Maya will throw a hotbox / marking menu at me when I use a transform hotkey (W,E,R) Is there some kind of sticky key thing going on that it thinks its helping out by giving me this menu? Its been around for ages and drives me nuts! If I want a menu, Ill go get the menu, if I hit W I just want to move something. When Im lighting a shot and moving quickly this slows me down so much, especially if Im doing a look dev live render. Itll jump into a menu, dive down two levels, Ill try to back out, hit the transform key again. Multiply this by hundreds over a day as Im constantly selecting and moving lights, it becomes a huge time drain.

If this isnt common, perhaps its a wacom driver thing, but either way, its been around for ages, and if its a feature and not a bug, how can I turn it off??

Hi. Im running windows 10, and Maya 2022.3, but this problem has plagued me for a few years now.

We have seen reports of this issue but have been unable to reproduce it reliably so it is likely something related to your system and I have passed along your comments about Wacom.

You can remap the W keys in the Hotkey Editor to remove the marking menus. You just need to remove these two keybindings. (one for key down and one for key up)

Then set the hotkey for the "MoveTool" (runtime command) to W.

Then do the same thing for other tools like Select, Rotate, Scale where you have this issue.

Ive realised its not related to my wacom. It also happens when I use a mouse. Thus has also happened on other systems Ive used, not just my work machine at home. Its happened over the last five or six years at various studios Ive worked at.
