Please make a built in autosave for maya and your other softwares like almost every other software! would save so many hours for students professional and would help morals of people to not loose at times hours of work. We know maya crashes A LOT almost once a day for some people. when you do a new project and you forget to click that autosave button you can loose so much time. Companies put money student put time in this. The lost times not having an autosave feature built in and automatically on can cause a student to fail classes and companies to loose so much momey. I think it would be so easy to first that little box just be on when you start the project. if you dont want the option then the person can uncheck it. And an other thing would be to fix the issue where one file gets corrupted and all the past ones become corrupted ive lost countless hours even days rebuilding my scenes just because there is a problem somehwhere in the files and hours because i forgot to tick a square that is on for every other software.

Hello my friend... I think that I can feel the pain on your text 😅

I don't think that you will ever see that change done, you would see many other people complaining like you but for the opposite reason. However you can set your preferences at startup so you never loose that preferences and are easy to share among others.

Just place a "userSetup.py" file under "Documents/maya/scripts" folder and it will run automatically. Add the following text in it:

import maya.cmds as mc mc.evalDeferred("mc.autoSave(enable=True)", lowestPriority=True)

Check the docs for more options like setting a custom path.
