Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the community! Congratulations on finishing college!

Thanks for taking the time to write in. The educational version is for learning purposes only, thus models created on the educational version cannot be transferred to the full version. I would encourage you to look into Maya LT. It has a much lower price point for a monthly subscription and includes the Stingray game engine.

I have models I have made during my time at college within the student version of Maya, if I buy the full license version, is it possible to move my assets to the full license version to remove the student watermark from them and use them for commercial use?

Having left college as well, without a fulltime modelling job, if I can't use assets I have made in the last few years I think I'll just move over to blender until I hit up modelling as a full time profession. I literally cannot justify the cost for my personal situation if I will have to start over.

I have been looking into Maya LT, good price range for someone in my position, so I think I will end up going with that. Bit annoying though, if you guys want feedback, you should look into changing that. I understand though that companies could probably get loads of student licenses and have multiple artists work on them, and only pay for one retail copy, but still, as an idividual user, it's annoying having to recreate assets. Nevermind eh. Thanks for the fast reply.

Definitely understand the frustration with having to recreate models. I will pass this feedback on, it is definitely something we have evaluated. Thanks for providing your thoughts. Hope to see you around the community more!
