You may have the AUTO KEYFRAME turned ON. This will automatically key attributes (that already have been keyed at least once) anytime you change the vales of said attributes. Bottom right corner is where this is located. Give that a go (turning it OFF) and see what happens. Otherwise, a better description of the problem is needed.

I created an object using the full size of the base grid and wish to animate it. I resized it, so that it took up only a small part of the grid and then I set a keyframe [0] I moved it to the next position that it should be and then scrubbed the timeline. At keyframe [1] the image scaled back up to the original huge size. I have tried scrubbing first and then moving the object. Scrubbing again causes it to resize. I have tried deleting all the keyframes and re doing the process. I have tried resizing and then saving as - with the hope that the new object size will be saved - no luck. I must be missing something, maybe I need to resize the grid ? How would I do that ? I am not new to animation, I am a frequent user of Ae and Premiere, but I am just beginning to learn Maya. Any ideas - Thank you !

Thanks for responding, autokey was not on, but when I revisited the project after some time the problem was not reproduced.
