Hi, there is my fresh experience with instalation of Maya 2016 on Win 10.
I have Win 10 on laptop - it was installed as upgrade from Win 7. There was Maya installed before my upgrade of Win so after upgrade of Win it worked excellent . But when I tried to upgrade Maya to new extension SP I wasn´t successful. I wasn´t able to install upgrade even to uninstall Maya.
Now I tried to install Maya on another computer - desktop. There was a clear instalation of Win 10. I wasn´t able to instal Maya not even Mudbox. When I tried to find some solution on the web I found out there is a problem with compatibility of .NET 4.6.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Windows-10-support-for-Autodesk-products.html

Yes, tried to turn off .NET 4.6 and used lower version of Framework but it didnˇt help.

https://support.curse.com/hc/en-us/articles/206434865-Turn-On-Off-NET-Framework

So, I think at this time it is wastage time to install Win 10 for work with Autodesk products until ver. 2016. Maya 2017 has support for Win 10 but it doesn´t have batch rendering (Mental ray).
But if anybody have solution for it I will appreciate any help. (don´t tell me to use maya 2017. I have subscription but at first I think it is unstable and second at this time I´m not sure about renderer). Thank you.

I wasn´t able to instal any product of Autodesk (Maya and Mudbox) regardless of version (2016 or 2017) on clear instalation of Windows 10. I have Win 10 updated up to most recent update. I had this simillar problem with instalation of software for my accountancy. I tried to uninstall and reinstal Microsoft C++ and Framework.NET. Without any success. I was ready to give up it.
The problem was solved by Autodesk stuff Marco Rufutuso through remote acces. Hi spent almost two hours by fighiting with it. In the end hi has got great idea to try install products from different HDD than C. That´s all. Thank you Marco.

PeterN.

btw: this solution had solved problem with instalation of my another software
