Ctrl-Z Warning message

Every time i undo something, an error pops up on my script editor. Its not a big issue, but its just rather irritating. Does anyone know what's happening and how to remove this error?

eval( "hikCustomRigUndoRedo" );
// Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2017/scripts/others/hikCharacterControlsUI.mel line 329: Object 'hikCharacterList|OptionMenu' not found. //

When I uncheck the mayaHIK.mll plugin, this happens:

I'm using Maya 2017 on windows10. Any help is appreciated

This is a known issue and has been reported several times now.. It is being looked at by the Maya Development team and hopefully this will be fixed in a future release. As a workaround, you can close one of either Property Editor or Material Viewer within the hypershade and Maya undo commands work as expected. It is something to do with callbacks with the hypershade open and both the Material Viewer is on alongside the Property Editor. If you close one of them it should work.

I closed both the material viewer and property editor but it didn't work either. I guess I'll just have to wait for the update then. thanks.

Hopefully the Autodesk customers will begin to test their software anytime before releasing something with so many bugs.... The price is too high for these annoying everyday bugs that make working a pain in the ****!!!!!!!!!

Replacing "hikCharacterControlsUI.mel" in C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2017\scripts\others with Maya 2016 "hikCharacterControlsUI.mel" Same location will work...........

why is this solved? Why do the users have to fix this by their own?

Don´t you have a QA at Autodesk or don´t you use your own software?

WE are paining YOU so YOU will fix the bugs for US, not vise versa... why the hell does Maya cost 1900,-$?

Worked for me:
Just close your extra Maya windows and viewport tabs, once. One of them may be the sole responsible for that bug. Probably Tools Settings or Attribute Editor. Then, the problem is solved.

To Fix this issue you need to open once the Human IK Tool that will reload the .Mel and fix the issue.

The problem came back. I had to delete userPrefs.mel

There must be a single config in there that is causing the **** problem.

Remember: deleting userPrefs.mel also works, but with a cost.

I've just experienced this issue in Maya 2022.
None of the above solutions worked for me.
I think its because of a script I am writing that was causing some issues tracking the undo history stack.
The undo history for the stuff related to the script seems to work fine at first, until at some point when I use my mesh through Mash.

After the Mash operation all undo operations need 10 -15 ctrl z's to undo until I no longer can undo anything in the scene anymore and have to restart Maya.
