Maya 2017 Arnold not loading.

Arnold is not working on my last Maya 2017 install. I get this error // Error: line 1: The specified module could not be found. (mtoa) Any ideas. Cheers.

Does "last Maya 2017 install" mean that you have Update 1?

Then download MtoA 1.3.1.1 from the solidangle.com web site (registration required):

On Windows, Update 1 updates the existing Maya install.

On Linux and OSX, Update 1 is a full Maya install.

Before you do that, does your processor support SSE4.2? If not, you won't be able to use MtoA or Arnold.

If you want to check whether an older machine supports SSE4.2, here’s a few suggestions:

Google your CPU and “SSE”
Windows: Download and run coreinfo -f
OSX: Run sysctl -a | grep machdep.cpu

Hi. Thanks for reply. I have a Intel Xeon E5-2687W x2 On it's features says that support : MMX instructions SSE / Streaming SIMD Extensions SSE2 / Streaming SIMD Extensions 2 SSE3 / Streaming SIMD Extensions 3 SSSE3 / Supplemental Streaming SIMD Extensions 3 SSE4 / SSE4.1 + SSE4.2 / Streaming SIMD Extensions 4 I think is ok right ? What can be the problem ?

Yes, that processor is not too old, so you should be ok.

I like to run coreinfo (on Windows) just to be sure, because cpuworld can be wrong every now and again.

If you re-install MtoA and it doesn't load, then it could be a missing dependency, like the VS2008 redistributable (newer Maya versions don't install that, and it's Arnold that requires it). However, if you have older Maya versions too, then you probably have the VS2008 redist.

If you have other versions of Maya and MtoA, then it could be an environment variable setting, so I would check that (run system("set") in the script editor).
