topic right/left arm not parallel to x axis in Maya Forum

When I used the Human IK Character Controllers to create a skeleton, the Definition states that the right/left arms do not seem parallel to the x axis. Can someone help me learn how to fix this please.

I would really like to know the answer to this one. This post has been sitting here for four months without a response from autodesk!

I have the same issue, the bones are exactly parallel but I get the error showing up in the humanIK panel. how do you fix what isn't broken?

This is my guess, the local rotation of bones should be that the x axis goes across the bone and follows the bone structure, making all the bones parallel to the x axis, if this problem happens you would have to rotate not the bone but the gimp I think.

I have the same issue. When I change all the joints of the arm reference to be parallel to the X - axis, the warning goes away.
