selecting geometries like faces, edges and vertices aren't workin

Hello,

I am on Maya 2025. I created geometries and went to select the faces, and it stopped working. I am not able to select vertices, nor edges, and faces. I am able to do other things but this part of Maya has stopped working for me. I tried to troubleshoot. I unselected soft select. I reset Maya. I reset tools, I reset the select tool and nothing is repairing it. It is as it stopped working. I saw it work less and less and then suddenly it didn't want to complete the process of picking an edge, vertices and faces. As you can see on the image I picked the vertices and it didn't select it.
