topic Bifrost mesh jittering effect in Maya Forum

can't see an FX forum so apologies for the general insertion. Vray for Maya, fast sss shader applied to an alembic mesh that falls upon donut and slowly runs down the side to the floor. Viscosity at 20. but the frames deliver a terrible, jittery effect as the icing runs along and down the donut. then the icing tries to attach itself to each other when in close confines. Thought it might be the time stepping / adaptivity settings but I'm not confident of a base setting to at least address the problem. Vox size before I click the mesh on is 0.05., and mesh settings are a little higher than default any tips appreciated.

Hi @matt.turley!

Would it be possible to share your scene, or at least a screenshot of your meshing settings and what it looks like in your viewport? A playblast should suffice.

Sure, here’s a little movie and some grabs – hope you can see the blobs staggering down the side and inside. Can certainly upload scene if this is bereft.
thanks

ok think I've solved the issue, to a point. it appears using viscosity values ties in with the scale values, so using a vis value of 20 might need a scale value of 1, and so forth. it leaves the liquid less chumpy and uneven, but i have seen a tut online with a big vis value, no scale, and nice results using arnold, but hey-ho, i cant pursue this anymore!
