Maya: Combining Vertices Help

Good day,

Why is my mesh turns into something like that when I use TARGET WELD tool or MERGE when I combine my vertices

How do I combine my vertices to create my object with no gap ? Thank you

I wasn't 100% sure what vertices you were trying to merge or weld together but I made a quick video demonstrating a few tools.

Thank you very much for the effort ...

But for some reason ... Bridge won't work

I've used it several times but this time it won't work

I've seen someone using the Merge vertex tool (which is replaced by Target weld) just by selecting those vertices and it'll combine it into one

Just use merge and tune value for threshold.

I think I've found the solution ...

But can someone please verify me or tell me if this is the "Proper" procedure because it might ruin my workflow later on....

1.) I combined the 2 separate objects into one using "COMBINE"

2.) Go to Vertex mode

3.) Go to Mesh Tools & choose TARGET WELD

4.) I connect the vertices manually

5.) I checked the number of VERTICES on the Poly Count and it has the same number of Vertices with a newly created sphere

Is my procedure correct ? or it might ruin my project later in the pipeline ?

Hi!

Yes you can do this manual, but it should not be necessary here.

For me it's:

1. Combine Object's

2. Merge, set Threshold

Done.

This should work for you too (based on scaling you may need higher or lower values)
