Hey so I'm wondering if there is a way for material to not receive shadows from itself but from other sources?

Here's my example I have a character who I don't want the body mesh to receive shadows from itself but I still want it to cast shadows. On top of that I want other objects to still be able to cast shadows on the body mesh.

https://twitter.com/AutodeskHelp/status/937789834051043328

https://twitter.com/TheNewCultKing/status/937614284691001349

https://twitter.com/TheNewCultKing/status/937614284691001349

https://twitter.com/TheNewCultKing/status/937614284691001349

https://twitter.com/TheNewCultKing/status/937614284691001349

If you use Arnold, you can close self shadow.

hmm well i was going to go with Arnold but now i have a new problem it doesn't have anything for backface culling as i'm using that technique to get an outline for my character. So now I'm back at square 1.
