Hello,

When I try to render my scene using either Maya Software or Arnold Render, there is a problem with the lighting. Lights in the render don't work properly and scene appears. Below you can see my original scene, Maya Software render and Arnold Render. If you can help me with this problem I would be very grateful. Also if you can see in Arnold Render there is a problem with the texture of the small table, which displays it with a gray colour instead of a brown one.

Thanks in advance

Original SceneMaya Software RenderArnold Render

Hi @Anonymous

If you're rendering with Arnold you need to use Arnolds specific lights found in the Arnold tab.

It also looks like you may need to add more lights throughout the scene to get a better effect.

Please let me know if this helps or if you need any more assistance!

yes i tried that. But the problem is that my rendered scene has always the same brightness no matter what the lighting is. Is like it doesn't take into account any lighting and returns the same image as before.

Hmm okay.

When you get a chance, can you please zip and attach the scene file here or via dropbox/google drive or another file sharing program so I can take a look at it?

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for attaching the scene file!

It looks like this is happening because you're using the aiAmbientOcclusion shader. This will give you a nice AO bake but will keep the colors white.

I was able to workaround this by taking the material and slightly shifting the color so it had a bit of the yellow look that the light gives off. You can also just change the material to an aiStandard shader and that will reflect the changes you see with the lights color.

Oh okay. So how do I remove this in order to get a dark image when I have little light? If i delete it it changes the colours of the scene.
Thanks for your time

If you want to assign a new shader to the back wall for example, simply right click on the object and go to Assign a New Material.

Then you can assign an aiStandard shader and should see the changes in the render.
