Hi!

More details please.

Where do you use OpenCL acceleration?

Have you tried what happens when only one "1080" is installed (the other one physically removed from mainboard)?

Is the onboard GPU disabled (if there is any).

Please upload a scene-file.

Hey guys,

I switch back and forth from my desktop to my laptop with animation files. My laptop uses a 980 graphics card and my desktop has two 1080's. They also have different CPU's. I believe the desktop is 5960X and i'm not sure about the laptop. My desktop is the issue here. Laptop runs fine.

Anyways, while adjusting values in the scene my characters textures will separate from the body. Then in the output window I will get "OpenCL Error: CL_OUT_OF_RESOURCES error waiting for idle on GeForce GTX 1080 (Device 0)."

This is super annoying because I have autosaves set up for 5 minute intervals and I can't even hit the 5 minute mark without a crash. Please let me know if there is a solution out there for this.

This issue is well outside my comfort bubble, but in the interest of offering something akin to "help" . . . I did a Google Advanced Search on the exact phrase: CL_OUT_OF_RESOURCES

That produces a lot of hits. I skimmed one: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/485096/cl_out_of_resources-on-clenqueuereadbuffer/?offset=5

The OP was not clear what environment he was working in, but it sounds like he is actually programming, not working in a GUI like Maya . . . If no one more expert has a better answer, maybe that can help you track down a solution.

Hey guys,

I did end up turning SLI off and the errors went away. So if anyone comes across this issue with multiple GPU's installed, just go to your Nvidia settings or ATI settings and turn off SLI/Crossfire.
