double click select changed !?

Upgraded from maya 2017 to 2018 and have found a few things that dont work the same. same for selecting loops with one face then double clicking the face next to it.

For some reason double clicking a face no longer selects all faces attached to that object in scale or rotate tool.

Works fine in transform tool.

Also uv window runs incredibly slow.

Iv seen on posts saying to delete prefs folder but im sure iv got some prefs that took ages to get right and dont wana nuke them all.

Hi!

You don't need to nuke them, they can be saved and restored, but it would be helpful as first step to know if this is the problem or not,

so please

try a reset of your preferences.
Rename the folder prefs in folder 2018 to something like prefs_backup, or to reset everything, the folder 2018 to 2018_backup (or even the maya folder to maya_backup). Maya creates new folders (don't copy preferences from previous Maya versions). Detailed at:

Hi, thanks for quick response, i just tried renaming prefs folder and the problem still persists.
is this intended behaviour?

Hi!

Please reset everything.

- Update graphic card driver (maybe just re-install after an OS update).
- Try different Viewport modes (in Preferences).

Is this scene related or does this happen with a fresh scene and for example a cube?

Your Maya version?
