Hey guys,

I'm encountering a fatal crash on my Windows 10 Home PC after opening Maya 2017

Graphics: GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K @ 3.50GHz

RAM: 16 GB

ASUS Mobo: PRIME Z270M-PLUS

I've performed a clean uninstall and then reinstalled > same exact issue.

This is a brand new PC, all my drivers are up to date (or I couldn't find any updated ones).

This happens on first launch, I don't have an existing scene to work with right now.

The splash screen only gets to "Maya loading..."

Can anyone help out? I'd love to get this up and running.

I noticed the crash log talk about an Access Violation issue. I've been researching this like mad, but I can't seem to find a driver update for my CPU. It says everything is up to date. Where am I going wrong here?

My crash log:

//=====================================================

Sorry for the self-reply, but it would not let me edit my original post.

I successfully launched Maya!

I went to the filepath and moved the driver file (the fault address line in the crash) to the desktop to see what would happen and sure enough, Maya launched without a problem.

Can anyone still explain why exactly that caused an issue? Or maybe explain if that's a component I even need?

Thanks!

Ahh that makes sense. Wonder why it was that one driver causing an issue. My PC by default won’t even let me move that driver back to its original location. Glad it was an easy fix.
Thanks for the explanation!
