Maya opens but wont respond

Hey all.

I have been having a problem with Maya 2017. When I open the program, it opens to the usual screen with the grid. Whilst there used to be a small delay before Maya would respond and I could use the program, now when I open Maya, it remains on that blank screen. The title bar of Maya does not say "Maya Not Responding", but it still wont work. When you move the cursor to the program window it also does not change for the program, and since it crossed the window border, the window reshaping arrows come up. The exit button, restore and minimize buttons also do not work. I was wondering if an uninstall and reinstall would help? I have included a screenshot of the screen when Maya opens to better explain the situation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for posting. Can you tell me a bit about your setup so I can hone in on the issue? 🙂

Have you tried Reseting your Maya Preferences?
What is your GPU? Is it on our list of Certified Hardware?
Are all of your drivers up to date?
Are you using a Wacom Tablet, Cintiq 3D or Magic Mouse?
Is your Maya software up to date? We have Update 5 for Maya 2017, as well as update 2018.2 for our most current version, Maya 2018. You can download these updates by signing in to your Autodesk Account > Management Products and Downloads > Maya > Downloads > Updates and Add-Ons

Thank you for your help. I uninstalled Autodesk and Maya and reinstalled and it is working again. Not sure why it happened but it's fixed now. Thanks for the help
