Yes, I tried to snap them, but the grid is not where I need my vertices to be and snap to curve or point - deforming the line.

If there is no other way...

Hello,

Probably newbie question but: how to slide vertices further along an edge? I attached an image for better understanding...

Please help.

Hi @Anonymous

You can move Vertices manually using the Move tool.

So in your case from the screenshot, you could turn on Snap to Points so the vertex would snap to that other edge.

Please let me know if this information helps or if you need any more assistance!

Maya has slide edge loop tool - this is what I need BUT this tool only able to slide along existing edges. I need to slide edge further but in the same direction.

Move tool is not precise tool...

Hi @Anonymous

The slide edge tool works because the vertices work as constraints to keep the edge sliding along the right way.

For vertices, yes the move tool by itself isn't precise. However if you use snap to grid or snap to point you'll be able to have much more precise control over where the vertex is placed.

Have you had a chance to try moving them with the snap tools enabled?

Hi @Anonymous

You don't have to snap to the grid. You could use snap to point so it will snap to near by edges or vertices.

In the screenshot you provided it looks like you are trying to move the vertext to the edge of another model.

By using Snap to Point you should be able to do this.
