That was one of the first things I tried, but then I get this error: // Error: line 1: Cannot find procedure "artAttrSkinWeightCopy".

Unless you have any other ideas, I'll just use the Track Tool for panning for now. Obviously there is something wrong on my end, since very few others have had this issue over the years.

Thanks for the suggestions, though!

I cannot pan with the middle mouse button. Instead, I keep getting this error when I try to pan:

// Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2018/scripts/others/artAttrSkinWeightCopy.mel line 17: Nothing is selected. Please select a vertex to copy weights from.

I've tried resetting preferences to default. I've tried another mouse. I've also tried deleting that script. But nothing works.

Thanks for any help!

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the community!

It's odd that resetting your settings didn't solve this.

If you open a fresh scene of Maya and try to pan does this still occur?

You may want to check to make sure all of your drivers are up to date.

Steps to update your drivers can be found here!

Let me know if anything changes!

Thanks for your reply. I've tried everything I can think of. I just bought a new mouse, no luck. I've uninstalled Maya along with every Maya folder, did a clean install, and the problem is still there. I've gone into the Maya folder in Documents and deleted the year folder, restarted, and that doesn't work. I've spent two days trying to figure this out and I'm not sure what else to try now. I found another person with this problem from searching, but it seems there was no solution in that case, either: http://www.11secondclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=23977.

Is there any alternative way to pan, other than Alt+Middle click? The middle button zooms in and out fine, just won't pan because of the script error.

Hi @Anonymous

There is a solution in that thread if I'm not mistaken.

That user renmaed the mel file(artAttrSkinWeightCopy.mel) and then launched Maya.

Normally I wouldn't recommend this but it seems like you've tried a lot of other things I would normally recommend.

In this case, I'd recommend taking that file and moving it to a folder on your desktop then launch Maya and see if you can pan like normal.

Hi @Anonymous

We don't officially support the 970 so that could be part of the issue.

That said, the driver for similar cards we support is version 390.77. You could try uninstalling your current gpu driver and install version 390.77 which can be found here!
