Have there been any major changes to their machine lately like a Windows update?

Also, when you uninstall/reinstalled, did you perform a clean uninstall/reinstall of Maya?

Today my colleague's version of Maya has inexplicably stopped working. He gets an error line 0 error reading file message when he tries to open any scene. The same scenes open fine on my machine. We have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, both through the launcher program and direct download, but no luck. Using the latest version doesn't help either.

One other thing we have noticed is that Maya cannot read the dates of the files correctly in its file browser. It thinks they were all created at whatever time the computer was started. FYI the files are accessed across a network on a shared drive. Again, I should point out that I access the same drive and have no problems with the files whatsoever and I'm not even on the latest version. Changing to the OS browser within Maya doesn't work either.

Also FYI, my colleague can access the files using a windows browser fine, and here the dates are correct.

In other words - there is no issue with the network, nor the files. It seems to be specifically Maya's inability to read the files.....

Totally hit a brick wall. Please help.

thanks

Kenny
