Maya 2018 Universal Manipulator not moving correctly

Hello!

When i'm trying to move a primitive using Universal Manipulator's center point, it doesn't move as intended - it jump away in direction opposite to origin point.

This might be a viewport issue. What GPU are you using and are the drivers the same as our certified list?

You can find our certified hardware list here!

Another quick fix you could try is deleting your settings/preferences

Reset my preferences doesn't help.

I'm using a GeForce GTX 960 with 398.82 drivers. So it can be issue?

Ok and yeah that shouldn't be the issue.

Our update 4 for 2018 just released today, can you try installing that and see if anything changes?

it's a strange behavior, (it's the same with update 4)
But you can hold shift at the same time and it will kind of work as expected

Yes, same problem stays with Update 4 too.

Another bug in Universal Manipulator: usually his axis center point changes with camera view, from XY to XZ or YZ (my Z is up). It's correct for selected YZ (changes to XY or XZ), but if I select XZ, it can change to XY only, not to YZ.

Selected XY can't change at all. 😞

Ah I see the issue now!

For some reason I wasn't seeing the movement issue right away but now I notice it and thanks to @abercaine for the workaround!

I went ahead and logged this with our dev team so they can work on a fix!
