Today I ran into the problem by opening a project, which I worked on for about two weeks.
What is the problem:
1. Some polygons were assigned the material of other.
2. Also, arbitrarily missing some of the objects' parts.
3. Some changed shape and position in space.

Autodesk Maya 2018 18.0.0.5870

My configuration:

Operating system: Windows 10 Home for one language 64-bit (10.0, Build 17134) (17134.rs4_release.180410-1804)

BIOS: E16J2IMS.111 (type: UEFI)

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5700HQ CPU @ 2.70GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.7GHz

Memory: 8192MB RAM

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M

Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 5600

HDD Model: HGST HTS721010A9E630

Hi @reshyogesosh and welcome to the community!

This is most likely due to having unnecessary history on the models.

When you get a chance, can you please zip and attach the scene file here or via dropbox/google drive or another file sharing program so I can take a look at it?

In the future, it's highly recommended that you

Delete history when its no longer needed.

Save in increments to prevent losing work

Back up saves.

Please let me know if anything changes!

Hi @reshyogesosh

The amount you were deleting history is fine but yes you should always save your work often and in increments. I generally save every 20-30 mins and make an iteration for example MyScene_01, MyScene_02 etc.

There's also a lot of sets and older groups in the Outliner that are probably from when you combined pieces and what not. I'd recommend cleaning that up as well as you work in the future.
