Sundry problems with maya, (texture, sellecting object, hide layers)

Hi guys, first of all, Im sorry for my bad english.. and thanks for supporting

Anyway, I dont know if it is my fault or not (Im a newbie)

with some tool, as in the title

More precisely:

I want to select (example) an object

the select tool cannot select any object

But only some random object

or even if I select->all ,

some random object are still not selected for any reason

Or If I create a new layer

and after that I want want to hide that layer, deselecting the "V"

the object of the layer are not hidden

But if I delete the objects of that layer

most of them are deleted correctly.. so I dont know why the layer doesnt hide

Or with hypershade, some times, the texture dont apply to the item

hold and drag with the middle or right click and add to select item

but nothing most of the time nothing happened

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the community!

What version of Maya are you working with and is it up to date?

You'll want to check your GPU drivers and make sure they match up with out certified hardware list.

Thanks for reaply:

Im using the latest one versione of maya, and a rx580 gpu..

from the pdf, of the latest version, there isnt the rx580..

so its an hardware issue.. there is no way that I can use maya with that gpu?

And also, since, Im probabily going to purchase the new rtx series from nvidia..

would maya have problems?

Hi @Anonymous

It doesn't 100% mean you can't use Maya but yes we do recommend you use a GPU that is on our certified list.

In the meantime, you'll want to check to make sure your GPU has the most recent drivers.

You'll also want to try changing your rendering engine:

I solved with reinstalling maya for the 5th time..
