half of the perspective screen is black

half of my perspective area is black and when i drag on the screen it will turn normal, but as soon as i try to rotate the scene it will turn black again.

I have the newest graphic card so this shouldn't be the problem

I have also uninstalled maya couple times and installed it again...

nothing works

does anyone know how to fix it?

What GPU driver are you using and is the driver the same as our certified hardware list?

Hi there I'm having the same problem, I installed Maya on a new laptop and it was working fine for the first few times I've opened it but then the screen became half black. My graphics card is a GeForce GTX 1060. When I click on the black part it goes away but it still affects my models when I click on them.

I had the same problem with half the screen appearing black, for me, the fix was navigating to display preferences and changing Viewpoint 2.0 to DirectX 11.

Hi @Anonymous

Like @Cyborgnight said, you'll want to try changing your rendering engine.

If that doesn't help, you'll want to make sure your 1060 is on driver version 398.82 which is our certified driver version for that GPU.
