Maya 2018 won't open at all

Hi all.

So, been trying for the past week to get Maya 2018 to open up on my laptop (Lenovo ideapad 500) as I need it for my studies, however as the output window and loading screen comes up it will stop at a certain point and just stop. I have actually left this for as long as 8 hours and still got no further. Below is a screenshot of what the output window shows after a few seconds of trying to open the applicaton.

I have tried a number of things from doing a Clean uninstall and then reinstalling, making sure my AMD graphics drivers were up to date, clearing up junk files, using Display Driver uninstaller and still no success in getting it open. Even thought getting a new pc might have to be a solution.

Any help that can be given will be greatly appreciated, thanks. Jen.

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the community!

Your GPU isn't on our certified hardware list so it's possible that's causing the issue.

Has Maya worked in the past on this laptop or is this your first time trying to use Maya on it?

Hi there, thanks very much for getting back.

I have not used Maya on this computer before, however I recently been using the likes of 3DS Max 2018 and mudbox etc and both have been working perfectly fine. Not sure if this could give any other ideas, but the laptop has an intel i5 core and an AMD graphics card which all seems to be up to date. I will say however that it's two years old as well so don't know if that would make any difference.

I need to know exactly what card and driver version.

Steps to find that info can be found here!

While it works with Mudbox and Max it is possible that the GPU may not be compatible with Maya.
