So I've been playing around with a few ways to do what I thought would be the simplest of things, to round off a hard edged corner. Now I've created much more complicated models (even though I'm still a newbie) yet this is causing me some difficulties.

The model is of a sword, picture attached of the edges im trying to soften/round.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @sean.heasley,

Thanks for the reply. So I had already played around with beveling, however I would end up beveling the whole edge, where I need the edge to be sharp and the adjoining corner to be softened.

Hi @Anonymous

You can select individual edges not the entire loop when beveling.

You also may want to play around with the edge display, Mesh Display->Soften/Harden Edge.

I haven't selected a loop, if you check the image you'll see they would be two edges at most, but again I'm not looking to bevel the edge as it is a blade.

Hi @Anonymous

I'm not entirely sure what kind of look you're going for then. The easiest way to round out the blade is by beveling and beveling is often used for the edges of swords.

You might want to check out some tutorials/videos on YouTube like this one on blade modeling:
