Modify MAC keyboard to replicate windows.

So I have been using Maya on windows for almost a decade now. And now my workplace has provided me with a mac book pro. I need to know is there a way for me to change the functions of the mac keyboard so that command key works as "alt" .. and fn key works as "ctrl". I am very much reliant on my hotkeys. What if I use an external USB windows keyboard ? Any advice / suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the community!

The easiest way would be your 2nd suggestion, plugging in a usb windows mouse. This should work as expected with Maya however I'm not 100% sure how it will interact with your other Mac applications or hotkeys.

If that doesn't work, you could simply change your hotkeys so they work with the function and command keys like they do with the ctlr and alt keys.

Hey Sean,

I know this is an older forum reply, but I have the same concern. I'm trying to switch my fn and option key so I can pan, zoom, and move my view around easier with my pinky instead of moving my entire hand. I can't find where I would switch these in the hot key editor. Thanks in advance,
