Fatal error attempting to save in maya 2018

Hello,

I am using the student version, suddenly while I am working, after up to 1 to 5 minutes the message “fatal error attempting to save in C:...” shows.

My specs are

Windows 7 Home premium

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4970K CPU @4.00GHz

RAM 16GB

64bit

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960

What happens when the crash occurs? Are you modeling, animating etc? Is there any steps to reproduce the crash?

Also, when the crash occurs, does Maya generate an error report for you to fill out and submit to Autodesk? If so, please fill it out and let me know what the CER report number is.

Please let me know if anything changes!

This is happening when I am animating, more specific just posing the character I have just created the reference and start to pose it. So this happens when I am moving controls.
Now I tried to rollback the graphic card driver and maya just crashed without any error

Hi @Anonymous

It looks like it does generate an error report but I need to know the CER number that is generated. Once you fill out the report and hit submit it should open your browser and say CER_ with a number, please let me know what that number is.

Also, your file was probably too large to attach to to the forum post manually. When you get a chance, can you please zip and attach the scene file here or via dropbox/google drive or another file sharing program so I can take a look at it?

Thanks for posting the CER number! It looks like this may be related to a known issue with 2018 that a fix is currently being worked on. You could try this in 2019 to see if the same issue occurs.

Also, I don't need the screenshots I need the actual scene file in order to test and confirm this issue.

Thank you for your help, now with maya 2019 it works fine 🙂 I haven’t had that problem anymore. apparently I had this problem from maya 2016 to 2018
