software closes automatically while choosing import option

software closes automatically after choosing import option to get additional files from the local system and if the local file browser window opens it takes forever to enter even single word in a search bar .

What may be the issue ?

currently using maya 2018(student edition) in windows 10 pro 64 bit system

Does Maya show an error report or anything when it crashes?

You may want to try deleting your settings/preferences and then try to import again.

Also is your hard drive full or near full capacity? That may be why you're seeing slowdowns when trying to search in the file explorer window.

we have maya2018 in our film institution, while using maya application(normal file) when we choose save option application closed automatically why? .
