topic Hypershade, Nodegraph question in Maya Forum

Hello,

I am studying Maya (and other 3D applications), I know already all basics and want to ask some basic questions:

The interface is still very complicated for me: There are Hypershade and NodeEditor almost doing the same. Why??

Nevertheless it is very hard to organize things there, it needs lot of space to overview and arrange.

When I look in Substance designer, it all is much easier and they have just one Node graph for everything.

All the best

You don't have to use the Node Editor for shading, just the Hypershade, it's your main window for all texturing needs.

The node editor can be helpful to other functions in Maya.

Thanks, I actually know this. I still dont understand, why there are two similar limited node graphs instead ONE good node graph.

That's the Maya nightmare... nothing is perfect, and then there is just another tool or window to fix it.

I'm so happy, that I can work mostly with C4D.
