Hi!

How do you exactly copy keys?

Step by step please.

In Maya please use copy / paste only when really needed,

i recommend to use duplicate instead whenever possible.

(Copy / Paste is a complete scene import and export when used on objects in the scene, so this popup will show up every time when using this with a student version)

I'm using a student version of Maya 2019.2 and had no issues with it so far. Recently when I tried to copy a keyrame from one joint control to another I received a popup message saying that this file was made with student license. Same thing happens when I want to paste or cut (both with shortcuts and edit menu). This wouldn't be a huge issue, but now I cannot paste the copied keyframes and when I copy-paste a mesh, it puts it in a group and gives it a "pasted_" prefix (screenshot attached). In every other application ctrl+c and ctrl+v work as they should.

This is seriously handicapping me and my project. So far I have tried:
- restarting my PC
- resetting Maya preferences to default
- deleting Temp files
- using the Maya repair tool
- using the Maya reinstall tool
- completely reinstalling Maya and installing it again

None of these worked.

Your reply made me wonder and I double-checked how I wanted to copy the keys. I was selecting the control curve of the rig and simply pressed ctrl+c, but instead I should have selected the key and then right click and press "copy". I honestly don't know how I could have made such a mistake after using Maya for over 3 years. I guess recently I have spend too much time in other software packages.

Sorry for a false alarm. I consider this issue to be solved.

Thanks mspeer!
