It's a planar projection from above on a bird. When the head moves the texture goes wrong.

I'm not at my computer at the moment but I'll get a screenshot later and upload it.

All I'm really trying to do is 'fix' the texture in place so it doesn't move as the bird does.

I've created an object that I'd animated but hadn't textured or UV'd. I've now UV'd and textured it but as it animates the texture moves all over the place as I'm guessing the UVs move too.

Is it possible for me to fixe this so that the texture stays in the same place as it animates?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for posting!

It would be helpful to see some screenshots or perhaps you could attach the file itself. I'm happy to take a look and offer some tips. =]

Are you using any 3d placement texture nodes?

Post a scene so we can take a look at it.

Hi!

Instead of a planar projection use

UV -> Planar,

so it's baked into the UV's.

I tried to do that but it still went wrong. I've attached a screenshot of what's happening to the texture as it animates.

Hi!

When using planar mapping, please make sure that in the options "Insert projection before deformers" is enabled,

or simply delete Non-Deformer History afterwards.

I managed to fix it by deleting all of the keyframes then creating a texture reference object and re-animated it.

Hi!

Sure, Texture Reference Object is an option, but in this case it should not be necessary.

I tested it here and it works as intended, i wonder why it does not work in your scene.

If you want you can share your scene-file.
