Hi,

Have your tried deleting your Maya preferences directory?

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2025/ENU/Maya-Customizing/files/GUID-393D1ECA-9B6E-4625-B5B1-3F28E62AFB1C-htm.html

If that doesn't work then you could check that you are using the certified driver for your graphics card in case the issues are related to a graphic card driver update.
https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/tsarticles/ts/udHliGvFHZVjHgd2e8JUK.html

Finally, if you are running Microsoft Windows the slowness could be the result of the Windows fault tolerance heap which can make certain apps (that have crashed) run very slowly on your PC. See this other forum thread for details on how you can disable the fault tolerance heap.
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-forum/maya-2022-becomes-slow-after-crash/m-p/10265472/highlight/true#M88202

Hello,

New to Maya. Started working with it a few weeks ago without an issue until today. It randomly started to crash or freeze whenever I tried to weld an object together. Now it's taking forever just to open a file. It shuts down whenever I try to mirror an object. My file sizes aren't very large. 2 Mb max. I tried uploading the old system preferences, but that didn't work. I tried the other Autodesk suggestions, but that didn't work either. Still the same issue. My desktop is also new and has enough memory/ram. Please help!
