Cant open or save files in 2019 or 2020

Coming from 2018.5, I installed 2019 and then 2020. Both versions do not let me save or open files. When clicking open, nothing happens, nothing loads, no errors. When trying to save anywhere, it just says, "file does not exist" and thats it. Any ideas how to fix this? These are fresh installs so clean preferences. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, and still the same thing. I run into on network mapped drives and local drives. Can't open or save anything.

Hello @Anonymous,

which OS are you running on your computer? In case, it is MAC OS, you can try the suggestion from this article: Can't open or save files within Maya.

In case you are using Maya on Windows OS, is it possible to move or copy files with the Windows Explorer on your local drive to different folders/ locations?

What do you mean "Can't open or save files in 2019 or 2020"?
can't launch Maya?

Anyway, try to scan your scene with MayaScanner.py or Install Maya again.
