I am using Maya 2025 (but this also happened with Maya 2024).

Maya loads a scene quickly, but will then hang for 30 seconds before I can do anything. I also keeps hanging with increasing frequency as time in a scene increases. Initially when I create or adjust a keyframe maya will sometimes for freeze for approximately 10 seconds, I can still do things outside of maya. The longer I animate on a project for, the more often and more intense the freezes. I worked on a single scene for a few hours yesterday and by the end of that period it was freezing every keyframe I added (or adjusted) for approximately 20 seconds at a time. Whilst frozen, the fans in my case spool up for the period that maya is frozen. I checked my RAM usage at this time, and it was less than 50%. GPU usage throughout this process is minimal, and CPU sits fairly low. During the freezes, one of the cores will spike to 100% for a couple of seconds. Temperatures overall are well within normal range. CPU sits and 40ish degrees Celsius, and GPU at about 50 degrees C. I restarted my computer, it did not fix the issue. I reopened the scene again today, it began to hang straight away.

I am at a loss as to what to do. The scenes I am working on are super simple with a single character rig. This shouldn't be happening on such simple rigs. If I take this same scene to my M2 Mac Air, I do not get the freezes.

I have tried clearing the caches, deleting preferences, reinstalling maya, reinstalling windows, updating windows from Windows 10 to 11. I thought perhaps it was my pc, as the RAM and CPU were very slightly old. So I upgraded them. It has not helped.

I have done this: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Reset-Maya-to-Default.html
and this: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-forum/maya-2020-hanging-with-increasing-length/td-p/9730059?us_oa=forums-us&us_si=68eeef51-9696-47fa-a8db-4eb3698d1c92&us_st=maya%20hanging

Here are my current PC specs:

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6800
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900 12 Core AM5 5.4GHz CPU Processor with Wraith Prism Cooler
MoBo: Gigabyte B650M GAMING WIFI AM5 mATX Motherboard
RAM: Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) CMK32GX5M2E6000C36 Vengeance CL36 6000MHz DDR5 RAM
HDD: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB (for windows)
HDD: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 1TB (for maya)

Does anyone have any ideas please?
