Thanks for the answer. Yea, maybe. I was hoping there is just a setting/button.

Hey Guys,
I'm a Blender user who's started to learn Maya two years ago. I'm now using Maya every other project, so I'm not that good in Problem solving in Maya yet. My go to Problem fixes are deleting the history and freezing the tranformations. I however keep getting problems, that arent fixed by theses methods.

One problem is, that sometimes, when I am doing UV's, the mesh wont unfold properly. The uv shells are jsut scaled wrong on an axis (wrong proportions) and my go to methods wont help.
Another problem is, that sometime the mesh behaves very strange (strange scaling etc.) and deleting History and freezing transformation does not work.

Both problems I fix by adding a primitiv cube and combining the Mesh with the Cube. Then I delete the Cube in component mode and that fixes the problems.

My question is, if there is a button, that fixes theses issues. Like deleting the History.

Another Problem I get very often is, that when I use the rotate tool, the mesh stards deforming very strange. I use the same method explained before.

I hadn't thought of combining and separating as a solution. What I've always done when confronted with strange geometry behavior is to export the geo as OBJ. When there are strange rotation effects, that's usually because of a shear value. Check to see if you're shear is 0 0 0.

I think you're combining and separating would be quicker than exporting an OBJ. You could write a script to take care of the process and give yourself the button you're looking for.
