Hypershade browser swatches not showing material

I updated Arnold the other day and ever since, i can't view my material swatches properly. There's just an Arnold 'a' in place of them. I have 'render swatches' ticked in my preferences, set at 4k. Anyone run into or have a fix to this?

Hi!

This is a known bug.

There is nothing you can do other than using an older version or waiting for an update.

(BTW You need to enable this for Arnold materials in Render Settings -> System Maya Integration "Enable Swatch Render", but currently this does not work)

Thanks for the reply. Do you know which older version of Arnold doesn't have this bug? How far back would I have to go (unfortunately i hadn't updated arnold since 2018 so not sure)

Hi!

I can't say at what exact version first showed this behavior, but as far as I remember this bug was discovered in Maya 2020 / MtoA 4.x .

same problem here......occurred when i updated from 2019 to 2020.03, now persistent in 2020.04

this really sucks 🙂
