Basics Tutorial, Step 5, Alt Middle Click will not center Maya bot in the frame

Hello All,

I am taking a course on using Maya. I started the basics tutorial and seem to be stuck on Step 5.

I know the middle mouse button works, as step 4 requires you use the same contorls (Alt + Middle Click) to pan. However, when I use this combination on Step 5, it does not center on Maya bot. Ive tried 2 differtn mice, I've tried restarting the tutorial, restartingthe program, and restarting the computer. It still doesnt do this, and as a reult I can't proceed past step 5 of teh tutorial.

Can anyone offer me some insight as to what I am missing?

Hi,

You need to Alt + Middle mouse drag to the right multiple times until you re-center the camera on MayaBot.

In other words it may take several click/drag/release interactions until you pan the camera enough to see MayaBot.

Excellent, thank you. I didn't realize I was supposed to pan to center, I thought it would start to follow Maya Bot with an Alt and Click. I'm a little embarassed it was that easy, but also relieved. You made my day with such a simple solution.
