topic Help to avoid petal intersections with flower animations? in Maya Dynamics Forum

I am working on a flower bloom animation, and have been struggling with avoiding intersections between petals. Currently each petal is low poly, animated with joints, and being offsetted with some randomness.

The goal is to avoid having to manually tweak each petal to not intersect.

Is it possible to use some sort of simulation to do this? I've heard Houdini can do this with Vellum, and was wondering if Maya had a way to achieve a similar effect, perhaps with nCloth (which I don't have much experience with yet).

Any advice would be appreciated.
