Help connecting a curve flow to a point

Hi guys,

I'm currently working on a school assignment and need some help.

I have a problem trying to attach my curve flow to my "wand". What I have tried is to the simple "wand.translateY = harryParticle.translateY", and tried parenting but to no avail. Was wondering if anyone could help me? I would appreciate it!!

I have also attached my maya file if anyone can help me!

Look at the expression of the curve particles and you will understand
