Hi!

The error-message does not occur anymore with Maya 2018.3 here, also i am not sure if it's able to prevent the usage of cashes.

What version are you using?

Are you using an older scene from a previous version?

Anyway, i recommend to update Maya to the latest version.

For further help please upload a scene-file (maybe with reduced settings for fluid resolution, so it's faster and easier to test)

I am trying to render out fluids with nparticles. I am having extreme issues when I try to replace fluid cache. It basically just cycles through timeline and nothing shows up after it has cached. Then I get an error and maya quits.

I've build my file three times and every time I get the crash.

Here is the error I get.

I've gone through every forum and googling. Nothing fixes it.

Thanks, but I am using the latest version 2018. The scene was built in this version too.

Here is the scene.

Hi!

Yes, this error message was a problem of Maya 2018, but seems to be corrected in the latest version 2018 Update 3 (2018.3). Please install the latest Maya version.

Here the playback of the cached fluid works fine and is faster then without, so the cache is working.

I downloaded Maya 2018. I have the same problem that it says it is making a
cache but then it scrubs through very fast. When I play my particles do not
generate. In fact nothing happens.

Hi!

You are right. Either the documentation is wrong or this feature does not work correct.

"Turn this option on to turn off solving during interactive playback. If there is a fluids cache present, Maya plays back the simulation from the cache."

Please report this problem (bug?) to Autodesk.
Help -> Speak Back -> Report a Problem
