Hey Ethan,

Sounds like a frustrating problem. I suspect that instead of just the keyframe data being selected, the joint object is also being selected at the same time. Here are three ways that should work to delete keyframe info:

Delete All Keyframe Manually:

1. Select object to remove info

2. Select frame 1 on the time slider

3. Shift select the last frame that has keyframe info (indicated by the little red tick mark)

4. Right click inside the highlighted red area on the time slider

5. Select the delete option in the pop-out menu

Delete Selected Keyframe info:

1. Open the graph editor

2. Select object to remove info

3. Highlight the channels you want to remove keyframes from (ex. Translate X, Translate Y, Rotate X also avoid the channel that is named the same as the object this will cause the object to be deleted)

4. Select all the keyframes on the graph

5. hit delete or backspace

Delete All Keyframes:

1. Select object to remove info

2 insert this line of code into the mel box (located on the bottom left of the Maya interface) "cutKey -cl;"

Hope this helps!

Delete All Keyframes?

Hello!

Whenever I try to delete all keyframes from an object at once, as is suggested in the Maya documents and on forums elsewhere, either by highlighting the animation in the graph editor or highlighting the time slider and pressing delete, instead of just deleting my keyframes, it deletes the entire joint of my object. Can anyone help me figure out a way to delete keyframes? I have several hundred on each joint, and I've been going through and manually deleting them all. 😞
