topic Copying animation between objects in Maya Animation and Rigging Forum

I'm trying to copy animation from one object to another. Problem is the original animated object at some point had its transforms frozen, so its animated positions don't match world co-ordinates. So copying the animation always moves the new object to different locations.

What's the best solution for this? Thanks for any info.

Hi!

Use a parent and a scale constraint to link the new objects movement to your other object. Then use Key -> Bake Simulation, to bake the movement into animation curves so you can further tweek it.

I hope it helps!
