Adjustable Chamfer Tool

Hi,

Do you have an experience with Adjustable Chamfer Tool.

I try to adjust Adjustable indexable chamfer tool and it goes wrong.

I have data from supplier for Dmax and Dmin for desire angle.

When I set tool in fusion and simulate it everything works fine.

When I machine it the machined chamfer is much bigger, looks like the actual size of the tool is bigger then from the book.

Any thoughts why is that happening.

It happens with 2D chamfer path and 2D contour path.

If you have the tools number and a part where this happens.

(Possibly with picture of what happened in the machine)

Hi Laurence,

Finally I got it work, a little bit of cheating with picking a smaller contour geometry for this operation.

Also I checked the diameter of the tool with the clock and machine coordinates.

The max diam is 32 not 29 like data says for 25 shank and 70 deg.

Accordingly I changed size of the tool in fusion, but it did not help.

The tool was cutting about 1-2mm to deep in the material.

I do not experience such a problems with solid carbide chamfer tools.

Will be nice to find out what is causing this problem.
